Anthony Davis put up an historic individual performance last night

The Pelicans player reminded everyone just how talented he is.

ONLY TWO OTHER players since 1983 have enjoyed a night like Anthony Davis did on Sunday as the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Detroit Pistons 111-106.

The 24-year-old, who can play as both a power forward or center, hit 59 points and pulled down no fewer than 20 rebounds.

Going 24 of 34 from the floor, Davis hit his only two three-point attempts and nine of his 10 free-throws to join Shaquille O’Neal and Chris Webber as the only NBA players with 50 points and 20 rebounds in the last 33 years.

He scored his points in a number of different ways:

And even though the Golden State Warriors might have everyone believing that small ball is the way forward, there’ll always be room for big guys like Davis to dominate in the NBA.
